Food: Vegan dinner at Zizi's

by - 15:51

Hello all, it's been a good while since I have been able to find the time to sit down and actually dedicate some time to writing for this site.
Today's post is about the vegan options at Zizi's who are known nationwide for their great selection of vegan options on their menu.

Although it is not pictured here, I started my meal off with some vegan Bruschetta which was absolutely delicious. I am a big fan of bruschetta and often make it at home myself. The tomatoes were very fresh and there was just the right balance between the garlic and the red onion. I recommend this as a starter as you really do not have to worry about feeling full as although it is bread and these are light enough to kick start your meal.

For my main, I ordered the Vegan Classic Zucca Pizza. I was so thrilled to see that it was being offered with a mozzarella alternative which was made with coconut oil. The cheese unlike other vegan cheeses was surprisingly very pleasant. It stretched like just like dairy cheese, but a ton better for you, the animals and the environment. Other toppings on this pizza included tomato, roasted butternut squash and caramelised onions and spinach. I'd give the pizza a 15 out of 10, it was absolutely delicious and it is now my go to vegan pizza when I'm out.

Lastly, lets talk about this INCREDIBLE desert. No joke, I almost cried when I saw it come out in the waiter's hands. LOOK AT HOW BEAUTIFUL IT IS. From the description on the menu, seeing that it had dates in it, I was a bit skeptical that I would even enjoy this. Don't get me wrong, I love dates as a fruit but I much prefer them out of pudding. This Sticky Chocolate & Praline Torte's base is made from dates, hazelnuts and walnuts and is super crumbly. The combination of these nuts and dates actually reminds me of a graham biscuit base. Topping the ensemble is a coconut and chocolate ripple gelato and some honeycomb pieces. ALL VEGAN. You would not at all for a moment even think that the gelato was dairy free and I certainly couldn't taste the difference.

Overall, I highly recommend choosing zizi's for a quick vegan meal and unlike a lot of high street chains, they have a vegan option for every single course.

What's your favourite vegan pizza? Let me know!
